MALAWI – MICRO ENTERPRISE
Current Situation
Most people are still extremely poor
Many people have small businesses (selling vegetables, food, tailoring, etc) but have no business skills
Due to high illiteracy rate, many can’t be employed
Creates a lot of unemployment, leading to crime
What We Are Doing
End the “hand out” syndrome by
- Teaching people how to run successful businesses
- Providing loans to start businesses
- Continuously monitor their progress
- Help find markets for their products locally or internationally
What We Can Expect
- Poverty cycle will broken
- People will have excess income which will enable them to
- Send children to good schools
